Excerpt from "ENTRY TWO, STICKS AND STONES"

(the child is talking)

VISUALIZATION AND PRAYER

      "Shut that arithmetic book," Jesus says, "and come over here and sit down, I have something important to tell you."   He takes both my hands in His (He's always doing that), looks right into my eyes (He's always doing that too), and says, "You are the child of a King; how does that grab you?  Didn't know that, eh?  And what's more, I'm your real Father and I love you just the way you are."   He goes on, "So, don't listen to him (meaning my dad) when he says he wishes you were a boy ... he's just an unhappy drinker, period, and nothing on the outside will ever make him happy.  He has to find contentment within himself."

       Yo, I don't know quite what that means but I stop crying right away!

      "Now," says the King, "lets celebrate the Ruth that I love ... let's listen to that music for a while and jump for joy ... I'll help you with your arithmetic later!" And we jump all around my bedroom, just Him and me.  It was soooo fun!
